Question :

" My installation is obsolete. It was developed as we went along, with the company's business. Am I still in a position to increase its performance? Do I have to replace part of it or everything?"

Answer :

The aim of a good expertise is to offer solutions for improving existing facilities, by possibly considering work or investment if financial earns are sufficient and if a good risk-assessment has been carried-out.

Question :

"We often suffer from pressure drops, with serious consequences on manufacturing. How can we proceed to solve this type of problems?"
Answer :

It is a frequent problem, especially on plants where the state, the organisation and the size of the distributing network didn't follow the evolution of the site.
The first questions are: is my distributing network correctly sized ? Is the compressed air production capacity sufficient facing the degradation of the machines or the increase of the needs ? Is the level of compressed air's leak not too high ? wouldn't it come from all this problems simultaneously ?

To answer to all these questions nothing but a thorough diagnosis based on measurements can identify the exact origin of the problem, and determine the solution(s).

Question :

"I have been offered to take control of the facilities management of my plant. Can you give me advice?"
Answer :

More and more people in the industry consider externalisation as an interesting solution. Concentrating one's efforts on their real activity is a priority. However, this approach leads to a number of questions and doubts.
In this type of negotiation, it is important to base oneself on a precise, independent and reliable inventory of the current installation.
A serious measurement campaign, reinforced by an efficient analysis, will allow establishing a healthy discussion platform for both parts.

Question :

"What result can one expect from an energetic diagnosis?"
Answer :

The principal aim of energetic diagnosis is to improve the running and operating conditions of production, distribution and utilisation facilities of energetic fluids.
Those improvements can lead to energy savings, profit on investment, and manufacturing improvements (quality and/ or productivity).
Our interventions are always carried-out under serious constraint of gross-time and industrial return. In other words, our forecast and results always allow a return on investment over less than 2 years and our services are paid-off in less than 12 months.

Question :

"How is an energetic diagnosis carried-out?"
Answer :

In order to be efficient, the energetic diagnosis must be based on a reliable and precise inventory of the running and operating conditions of the chosen installation.

This implies a measurement campaign adapted to the analysis needs.

  • a sufficient number of sensors
  • sensors carefully selected
  • an adapted frequency of measurement examination and acquisition
  • a sufficient measurement duration in order to get a representative outlook on the installation operations.

Based on this data, and also on his observations of the installation, on his meetings with the Technical and Manufacturing managers, the Expert makes a report and gives solutions and improvement paths.
The priority during our interventions first lies on optimising the existing equipment, and we then consider the work and investment that represent a sufficient profitability.

Question :

"I am interested in measurement acquisition and calculation follow-up but beyond the simple observations, I would like to analyse. Can you give me advice?"
Answer :

Currently, most acquisition facilities or GTC offer the spreadsheet as the only processing and analysis tool.
The spreadsheet provides for a nice lay-out but it not adapted to analysis, this for several reasons:

- One can only process a limited number of points (4000), which can reduce the analysis time to a minimum.
- One can only analyse two sizes at a time, which limits correlative analysis considerably.
- There are no functions facilitating data exploitation. (Zoom, level processing, etc…)

This is why we developed a suitable analysis tool: ADONAC
